Synopsis:

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Douglas, comes the latest New Adult romance of love, hate, and everything in between...

"We were perfect together. Until we met."

Misha

I can’t help but smile at the lyrics in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F*ck it. I need to meet her.

I just don’t expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his phone number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

*Punk 57 is a stand alone New Adult romance. It is suitable for ages 18+.

(Possible Spoilers)

Ryen Trevarrow feels like she can really be herself within the letters she writes to her pen pal Misha Lare. What once started as a school project, has grown into a unbreakable seven year friendship, or so she thought. When Ryen suddenly stops hearing from Misha, she worries the worst. She worries that he no longer wants to hear from her. He is the one constant in her life, her place to express everything that she keeps hidden from so many people. He knows the real her, even if they have never met face to face, and not the person she hides behind, the popular cheerleader, who could tear you down with a look. She's torn between the boy she's grown up loving, and the man she knows but doesn't know, when they are finally face to face. Ryen knows where her heart is, but do her and Misha, have a future beyond paper and pen? They will have to weave through the drama of high school, their own pain and doubt, and the love-hate attraction that sparks every time they touch.

Misha Lare, quite, talented musician, a artist with his words, he can put a pen to paper and bring to life a song. He's had the perfect muse the last seven years, his best friend, his pen pal, Ryen Trevarrow. With her he feels like he knows who he is. She believes in him, and that means something to him. He treasures those letters. They never wanted to meet in person, they didn't want to ruin the bond they have. But when he accidentally stumbles across a girl, a girl he just knows is his Ryen. He wish he never did. He sees a side of her he doesn't know, he feels like she has lied to him all these years. And that the real her, writing him those letters, is the fake. He pushes her away, afraid of losing the girl who stole his heart, but he's drawn to learning more about this complex Ryen, the one he sees off the pages of their letters.

Penelope Douglas bring us the high school angst and the sexiness of new adult romance. A perfect blend of a smoking hot connection, drama, and mystery. Ryen & Misha are complex, gripping and beautiful characters. Guilt, pain, things left unsaid, hold them back, it doesn't allow them to break free, move on, and be happy. When these two collide, it is everything. The anger, the heat, the banter. I could not get enough of the chemistry between Misha & Ryen. I seriously could read about them over and over.

I really loved Ryen, she was hard to connect with for awhile, but that just made me want to read about her more. And when I did, I loved her. She's a girls who tries to hide her fears. Ryen is just trying to survive high school, to get through. She works hard to convince herself she is happy. She hides behind a mask, to afraid to show the real her. But with Misha, he breaks down those walls she's built to protect herself, he rips off that mask, and helps her see that its OK to embrace her flaws, to just be Ryen, and say a big F U to anyone who doesn't like it.

And then there is Misha. I just loved this wounded, bad boy, with a huge heart. His need to run, to forget, to make his pain stop, overshadows whats right in front of him, the love he has in his life. Misha is almost afraid to believe that he could mean something to the people around him. Ryen see's him, she gets through that tough exterior, she loves the vulnerable man beneath, just as much as the cocky, tattooed, guarded part of him. I could not get enough of Misha. Penelope Douglas writes the best male leads!

I just LOVED everything about Punk 57. It was beautifully written, it was fun, and so sexy. These characters make a impact on you, they steal all of your attention and keep you so intrigued. And I just loved the connection to Corrupt, that was so fun to read.

The writing, the message, the characters, this awesome world that Penelope Douglas has created, makes for one of my favorite books this year.
