Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Sports Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 14, 2018 Cover Designer: Najla Qamber
Allie Sutton just got a new job.
Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) ... the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.
Luke Pierson does not want a new boss.
What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.
For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.
Allie Sutton has found herself as the new owner of the Washington Wolves, her fathers football team. Allie is unsure what is in store for her and reeling from gaining so much responsibility. But one thing Allie knows, is in order to succeed and make something great out of this, she'll have to pull it together. She wants to prove herself to her new team and to everyone watching, that shes more than a pretty face and that she can take charge. This is her chance to do something more, something she can be passionate about, and to help achieve all the things her father built with this team. Now if only she could get the sexy and rude Luke Pierson off her mind.
Allie is not off to a good start with the quarterback of her newly acquired team. As neighbors they butted heads and made lasting impression on each other, all before discovering that Allie was Luke's new boss. Pink frosting, loud music and glimpses through the hedges make Allie and Luke's days as neighbors, all the more interesting. The last thing Allie needs is to start any kind of relationship with Luke, but with every intense look, and rare smile, and the tenderness for his daughter that shows mixes with his rough and angry presence on the field, the harder it is for Allie to not want more.
Luke Pierson is focused. On his career, his daughter and winning that trophy this season with his team. As quarterback for the Washington Wolves and raising his daughter Faith, as a single father. He doesn't have time for many things. Things like trying not to lust over his new neighbor, Allie Sutton. Who also happens to be his new boss. Luke can just see it now, this spoiled blond bombshell, coming in and ruining the team he loves.
Luke thinks he has Allie pegged as the flighty, rich girl who couldn't bother with her father, just his money. When at every turn, she surprises him. Watching her take charge at work, her strong presence. Her beauty and sass and the way she can hold her own when he's being a jerk. Or the way she rocks those bikinis in her backyard. And the most important, the way she connects with his daughter so well, leaves Luke feeling all kinds of things. Things that can get complicated. But he just might not care if they do.
Luke has a lot of things in his past keeps him from wanting to get to close to Allie. There is too much that could go wrong, too much riding on them ever having a chance together. But therw is this connection, this intense pull between them, that maybe taking that risk could be worth it.
I love enemies to lovers kind of romances, and The Bombshell Effect did not let me down. Sexy, full of angst, lots of football, it was one passionate and sweet read. Luke and Allie were a perfect pair, their every encounter left you desperate for more. From their first meeting to the closing of the last page, you will root, swoon, laugh and impatiently anticipate where these two were going to take us next.
With a feisty and beautiful strong woman and a broody, sexy single father, I was hooked and I didn't not want this story to end. I wanted to stay in this book and read more about Allie, Luke, Violet, and the Washington Wolves.

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.
